Why don’t you write a book was a question asked to me from my friend Derek Kaye back in 2015. I thought wow, is that even possible, and if so, how?
Fortunately he kept pushing me and coming up with ideas, which lead to one of my greatest accomplishments.
Writing has always been a hobby and outlet of mine (therapy). Along the way I have been inspired by many, some folks I have met in person, but many I have not.
What is really cool is being contacted by folks from all over the world who have read and benefited from my book.
Anyway enough about me, today I want to talk about one of my greatest mentors. Someone who has and is on a similar journey of figuring out life, family, real-estate investing, and writing.
That person is Julie Broad booklaunchers.com I have been following her career from back when my brother introduced me to her real estate investing blog back in 2008. I even had the privilege of meeting her and her husband Dave when they came to my town to speak at a real estate convention back in 2012.
Since then her journey has lead her to California and getting heavy into helping people self publish books.
I was fortunate enough to be one of the first to read and review her latest book Self-Publish & Succeed. I read the Kindle version which was great, however, today I am excited to say I received a signed hard copy.
Without getting too detailed here is the Amazon review I wrote about the book:
“Timely advice as I write my second self published book.
Although I took a lot of inspiration from Julie’s first book to help write my first book, this new book offers a clear path providing strategic guidance.
It is perfect timing since I am in the process of writing a second book and was happy this one was launched before I completed it.
I will be making some immediate changes, and reviewing my “hook”.
I really appreciate Julie’s easy to read writing style, and how she blends real life stories with practical advice.
If you are considering writing a book, this is definitely a must read.”
One more thing I did not mention is about altering my writing style to make it more exciting and engaging (this is a work in progress).
