Tenants returning from out of province or country, need to follow the Nova Scotia department of health protocol. This is extremely important for all tenants and people working in a multi-unit property.
Self Isolation Memo – Nova Scotia Public Health
This is additional information regarding self-isolation within multi-unit residential buildings. This is complementary to the information provided on March 20th and March 23rd, 2020.
Self-isolation Individuals or groups that are on self-isolation due to travel or from being a close contact of an individual who is positive for COVID-19 should NOT be sharing accommodations with those who are not on self-isolation. This increases the number of people potentially exposed if one or more of the individuals on self-isolation becomes ill.
It is also now known that there is a possibility for people to be able to spread the virus in the 48 hours before they become ill. This makes it more important that people stick on strict self-isolation for their 14 day period.
It may be very challenging for people in multi-unit dwellings to be on self-isolation within their unit for 14 days, but they need to be given as much support as possible to allow this to happen.
Facility operators should encourage a sense of community and caring during this difficult time.
